StoolZippa

In colabaration with DAF (Department of Agriculture and Fisheries) , EHS Manufacturing have designed and manufactured the StoolZippa closing wheel. Primarily for use on sugar cane ratoons, the closing wheel system could also be utilised in other croping situations to reduce fertiliser and chemical run off.

The project objectives are to reduce

• Imiacloprid (Confidor) run off
• Nitrogen run off and volatillsation
• Sunlight degradation

With these goals in mind and through innovation and field testing the StoolZippa closing wheel was manufactured. The wheel geometry enables the soil that has been compacted by the stool splitter to be broken down and completely cover the fertiliser/chemical. With this closing over affect the StoolZippa also restores the trash blanket coverage to give the the application its full potential and protection from weather events and UV damage. StoolZippa benifts both the farmer and the environment in keeping the fertiliser and chemical in its rightful place, in turn this maximises both profit and effectiveness of the applied product.
